Choiseul, St. Lucia 1967
A training program brought me to this small fishing village in the British West Indies for three weeks in 1967. Though I desperately wanted to take pictures, I was too bashful and reluctant. I did not want anyone to feel I was invading their privacy. I had felt that way for about two weeks when I was visiting on the street where I was living, and the young lady in the fourth photograph below asked me, totally out of the blue, to take her picture. She went into her home to get her hat, and I went to get my camera. When the kids on the street saw my camera, they also wanted their pictures taken. I soon learned that the adults were also fine with being photographed. The last five photographs were taken in the rural area not far from the town.
